April captured the birth of our son Cuyler. She did amazing job of capturing the emotions of labor and delivery - the pain, relief and then joy - the bond between my husband and me, as well as our children and even between my midwife and I. I appreciated that she caught some behind the scenes moments that I never would have known about and moments I was present for but would have completely forgotten. Her technical skill was evident in the high quality photos she was able to capture in a dimly-lit room. I would highly recommend her as a birth photographer.

I thought that the nursing staff got in front of you and you were not able to get the baby crowning and I was a little disappointed. Then when I saw the pictures there it was the great picture. What is included in the birth story?

Birth story includes:
* Pre birth meetings
* 24/7 on call time from 38 weeks until baby's arrival
* Travel time & editing hours
* Edited high resolution digital downloads and personal gallery

I have fast labors, I am worried you will miss my baby's birth!

Communication is key. I will meet with you and your birth partner a few times before your birth and I will let you know the best way to reach me and how.

Just remember you can't communicate with me too much! I can make the fastest births with proper communication.

What is a fresh 48 session?

Fresh 48 sessions are taken at the hospital or your home (if a home birth) to capture the details of your baby's birth setting. These sessions last around 30 minutes which is the perfect amount of time to capture their beautiful freshness.

This is a great time to grab some breastfeeding and other postpartum images if desired, and also siblings meeting the new addition. Fresh 48 must be taken with 48 hours of birth and during regular day time hours.

What is included in Baby 1st Year Package?

Baby's 1st Year includes:
Maternity mini
Lifestyle newborn session
4th month mini
8th month mini
1 year old session
8x8 beautiful coffee table book with favorite images from the year
Digital downloads from each session

Do you still do mini sessions and family pictures?

Yes! I offer mini sessions for immediate family only, that take place in Clifton Park for $350. They include all the edited digital images as downloads. Sessions last 20 minutes and result in 15+ images.

I also do full family sessions and extended family sessions starting at $550 this is great for families that like lots of posed and candid pictures. Please email for more info!

Why is birth photography so expensive?

That is a great question! There is a lot of time and effort to be on call for 24/7 especially while having to care for children and other clients. Think of your wedding, a once in a lifetime event, but you aren't sure when it is going to happen, day or night for 4+ weeks?

Also labor and birth are so unpredictable. I could be with you anywhere from 2 to 25 hours! I'll be there for you and it will be worth it! Birth is amazing, you are amazing. It is an honor to be invited to your sacred birth space.
