I am so excited to share images from another baby first year client. We had a couple add ons to capture traditional Indian traditions for their baby and family. It is such an honor to learn and observe so many beautiful and colorful traditions of this amazing family. Here are images from the baby shower, this tradition is called Godh Bharai . Godh Bharia is “celebrated during pregnancy to welcome the unborn baby to the family and bless the mother-to-be with abundant joys of motherhood.” NY Indian Baby Shower.
Mom and dad did such an amazing job decorating and it was beautiful seeing all the little girls and women dressed in saris. Big sister was such a delight with all her amazing expressions! Most importantly, you can feel the love and support of the family visiting from all over the world. Meanwhile, my favorite part was watching all the woman bestow gifts and blessings to mom and baby. Each woman would come over and put a bangle on her wrist to signify blessings, you can see her wrists full of them, how wonderful.
Thank you for having me document this wonderful day! It was such an honor, and I am excited to share more traditions and baby first year sessions, coming up next is their maternity session! Luckily this event was able to take place early in 2020 before Covid was an issue in the United States.
